an interview with the monk-ed, from blique

monk-ed (me): lo, whezupx?

blique (blq): yes, can we get started?

me: on what?

blq: on the damn interview?!

me: oh yes.... let's get it on

blq: tell me something about yourself

me: me? okay. well, i'm human, 17, art freak, tech-savvy, hack-freak. more than that and i'll be exposed

blq: no one wants to know you either.... your art entitled gothicarmadafleet has been published recently. sad to say, not many people know what the fuck you are drawing. care to shed some light?

me: well, it is gothic art if you see it. that's the result of emotional break up. actually, there is a story behind all the arts, and the collection did not follow the order of the story.

blq: a story?

me: yes. well, some will say i copied twilight the movie's storyline. i don't care. coz by the time this comes out, twilight's dead.

blq: care to tell more about the storyline?

me: oh yes.... simply put it, boy sells soul for happiness, coz he lost his parents, all his relatives and his fiancee at 17. young yes. i like young people. he sold his soul to the devil, or the skeleton in the art. in return, he will get one chance at love. he will fall deeply in love, for the last time, before the devil takes his body, and yes, he dies.

blq: you said the storyline would be close to twilight. i don't see the resemblance here.

me: when the boy meets girl, it was in the high school. girl was intrigued by boy and the story pretty much told by the girls perspective of view. and yeah, he saved her from some rapist as well. hehe, too much sexual influence from japan i guess.

blq: that makes the both of us.... what happened in the end?

me: exclusive only for you my man. well, the boy only gets one year with his girl coz devils are evil. ahak. so, as time goes, his body slowly decay into the looks of the devil. he also lost his sensation of pain. in order to feel humane, he does self-injury, and i mean SERIOUS self-injury. well, sooner than not, the girl found out that he's.... a piece of skells? and she freaks out. she avoids him, only to find him disappearing in the following days. a pursuit to find him reveals....

blq: ....yes?

me: she found him dying. halfway to hell. she don't gets disgusted by her appearance anymore. she spends the last day of that poor boy, before he disappears to dust. she never saw him again after that. oh yeah, keep in mind that this is the simplified version. the complete one would tell how the boy courted the girl. hehe

blq: tragic.... is that the end of the story?

me: ah.... i actually planned for a continuation, displaying the torture of the girls side in a break up. if it was made into an anime, THAT IS, IF, the final episode will show the girl visiting his grave, and he appears, not as a ghost, nor a devil, but human. sorry but nothing more on the story. i will make a fiction soon. it's all in my head. i just need time.

blq: i see. another question.... why the name?

me: ahak. actually, i planned to draw the army of death. which reasons the word armada and fleet. changed my mind soon though. but the name stayed.

blq: what inspired you to draw this?

me: sad to say, my own break up. ahak.

blq: emotional one?

me: things keep short, i cried and i still miss her til today. ahak

blq: any future plans for this art collection?

me: well, she already seen it. i mean, my ex. so, if i am lucky, maybe make it to an anime, manga, or stuff. i just want people to know that losing in love is not the end of the world.

blq: seems the opposite in your art....

me: ahak. hidden themes. although i think it won't make it through the malaysia censorship board. too much violence and "exposure".

blq: may i know, where do these arts are produced, and how?

me: it all happened in my so called studio, my room upstairs. got a table, pencil, pens, eraser and rulers. also, a radio to keep my head brimmed with ideas. i usually start with pencil sketchings. after the sketch is complete, i brandish it with black and red pen, let it dry for one full night before erasing the pencil marks. place it in my folder and we're done!

blq: how long for an art to be finished?

me: well, that depends. on a blank mind, it takes more than 4 hours. with idea but the girl, 2 hours at most. with idea and only boys and the skel, less than 1 hour i dare say.

blq: why longer for the gals?

me: ahak. i'm not too good in drawing girls....

blq: why don't you use computer to draw these arts?

me: haha. many people asked that question too. but i'm a sworn member of carbon artist associates. we dedicate our lives to protect art in it's true original form, carbon. we don't really use computer graphics because we think digital art is killing traditional art.

blq: what do you plan to do in future, regarding your art and your life?

me: sad to say, my parents disagree with my passion. they prefer me earning cash, rather than the hard way of drawing. but, drawing is part of my life, will not part with it. i'll draw til i die, even though my wife complains of me. ahak. i have continued drawing but not gothicarmadafleet. decided to give emo and gothic a break. i started project COLORS and futurehumanprototype. also, another collaboration entitled STREETS.

blq: seems that you are all set up for future?

me: seems like it, yeah.
